Uniform

We have high standards for our uniform for both practical and psychological reasons and we enforce these standards to support your child to prioritise their educational journey through Queensbury.  This promotes equality, builds on our CARE values and culture, reduces distractions and helps to maintain a calm environment during lessons and during the school day so that the best learning can take place.

There are some common misconceptions that we want to highlight to help you when purchasing and planning for next week's start:

• School shoes should be non-branded and leather - any logos for sports or branding are not allowed, even if they are being marketed as 'school shoes'.  
• Black or white socks or tights can be worn, but these must not be worn together.
• Nose studs are not allowed to be worn.
• Fake eyelashes and false nails need to be removed before coming into school - please book any appointments needed to remove these during this week
• One pair of stud earrings is allowed, not hoops or multiple earrings.

Staff will check uniform standards frequently for students to make sure their uniform is in line with the expectations and may be in touch with you to assist in this.  

Equipment 

Having the right equipment matters!  By having what is needed it helps your child to learn most effectively, stay engaged and develop good habits.  It stops disruption at the start of lessons and avoids losing learning time. It promotes equality, responsibility and organisation and helps students feel more confident in lessons.

• Blue or black pens x2
• Pencils
• Reading Book
• Scientific Calculator
• Ruler
• Green pen
• Sharpener
• Eraser
