Personal Development
We believe that every child and young person at the Queensbury Academy, regardless of their background, ability or circumstances can thrive and succeed here.
We wish for our students to aspire to be the very best version of themselves, and we aim to develop their personalities, life skills and enable them to be fully equipped for life beyond school. We strive to do this through a broad, rich and ambitious personal development programme which enables our children and young people to:
- Cooperate effectively with one another so that they are prepared and able to live in mutually respectful environments
- Aspire to the very best that they can be.
- Respect cultures and beliefs that are different to their own
- Endeavour and thrive and succeed.
- Make good choices that fulfil their ability to uphold fundamental British Values.

Queensbury House System
On joining the school, each student will belong to one of our four houses: Co-operation, Aspiration, Respect and Endeavour. Each house has its own inspirational figures who each had a tremendous influence on history through their achievements.
There are a range of House Competitions that you can get involved in which cover a wide range of interests and skills, allowing you to earn points for your overall house total. Your school achievements will be recognised and rewarded through house points. Sports Day and extracurricular activities contribute to winning the house cup at the end of the year - so make sure you commit to doing your bit for your house!
