Emergency Procedures

This PowerPoint aims to introduce parents and students to the different bells and messages that may be heard if there is an emergency during the school day.

Emergency Procedures Powerpoint with Sound

Evacuation Alarm

  • The evacuation alarm signal is a continuous SIREN sound and will be used for a Fire, Gas Leak or at any time the buildings need to be evacuated.
  • Action: Make your way to the nearest available exit and proceed to the Assembly Points on Upper and Lower Hardcourts.

Invacuation

  • The Alarm System will sound “THERE IS AN INCIDENT IN THE BUILDING - PLEASE AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS”
  • ACTION: Remain in your classes and await further instruction.
  • Move away from the doors and windows.
  • If it is lesson change or you are at break or lunch you must go to the nearest building and find an upstairs classroom and keep away from the doors and windows

Off Site Assembly Point

  • Staff will tell you if at anytime there is a need to evacuate OFF SITE.
  • If we do have to do this the assembly point is Bennetts Recreation Ground.
  • Classes will be dismissed from line ups to walk there with their teacher.

All Clear Signal

  • School buildings will be swept by our fire wardens, who will communicate with the Site Manager and Headteacher to ensure the building is clear.
  • The Signal for when the situation is over will be indicated by SLT and Site staff informing Tutors. This will then allow SLT and HoY’s to dismiss classes in an orderly fashion.
